            Autismerica Overcomes Social Distancing to Support Students at COD

            In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, organizers of Autismerica at College of DuPage found themselves with a unique challenge – providing support amid a high-anxiety situation, while adhering to social distancing. COD Counselor and Professor Michael Duggan took a chance and opted to hold a test meeting online, with nearly two dozen students and COD counselors participating.

Sabine Gonzalez knew she could be deployed at any time around the U.S., but she never thought it would be to help in the fight against one of the world’s deadliest pandemics, COVID-19, right in her own back yard. She currently is stationed at a coronavirus testing site on Chicago’s Northwest Side.
